He remains the personification of evil. Perhaps no other despot in the history of mankind has left such a legacy of disregard for life and goodness, as Adolf Hitler. The Nazi Führer led a cultured and civilized nation to ignominy and ruin during the twisted manifestation of the Third Reich. He boasted that the Nazi regime would last a thousand years. In the end, it was only 12. But World War Two remains collectively the most profound event of the 20th century. Its consequences are felt to this day. We still struggle to understand Hitler. Who was this man? What drove him beyond the limits of human decency? What compelled and enabled him to sow death and destruction on a scale such as the world has never seen ¿ before or since?
